Pre-Purchase Vehicle Inspection Service — Effective from 01/08/2022

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of pre-purchase vehicle inspection services provided by Automob Lanka Mechanics Private Limited (“we,” “our,” “us”). By booking our service, you (“customer,” “client”) agree to these Terms.

  1. Service Scope. We provide independent, professional, visual inspections of motor vehicles to assist buyers in making informed purchasing decisions. Our inspections are offered in two formats:
    • Onsite Inspection (Mobile): Conducted at the vehicle’s location.
    • Workshop Inspection: Conducted at our facility with full diagnostic tools.
  2. Nature of Inspection. All inspections are visual, non-invasive assessments. We do not dismantle, remove, or open any parts. Reports reflect the condition at the time of inspection and are not a guarantee of future performance.
  3. Limitations of Onsite (Mobile) Inspections. Due to limited facilities onsite, detailed undercarriage/suspension/chassis checks may not always be possible, and some advanced diagnostics are available only at our workshop. Environment (lighting, weather, surfaces) may restrict scope.
  4. Test Drive Policy. A test drive is conducted only if the vehicle has valid full insurance and a valid revenue licence. Vehicles with major accident/structural damage evidence will not be driven.
  5. Client Responsibilities. The client must obtain owner/seller permission, ensure the vehicle is present, accessible, and safe at the scheduled time. Failure to provide access or documents may result in fees (see Refund Policy).
  6. Exclusions & Liability. Our inspections do not cover hidden/latent defects, future failures, items requiring dismantling, market value, registration, or legal ownership. We are not liable for failures occurring after the inspection, purchase decisions, or subsequent costs (repairs/maintenance/accidents).
  7. Inspection Report. The report is for the client who booked the service. It is an expert opinion based on observations and must not be regarded as a warranty/guarantee/insurance.
  8. Payments & Refunds. All bookings must be paid in accordance with our Refund Policy. Refund eligibility is governed by the separate Refund Policy page.
  9. Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of Sri Lankan courts.
  10. Acceptance of Terms. By booking our inspection service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
